The Chameleon Crusaders: Changelog & Roadmap

Getting out of a vehicle

As the driver, the exit key (F by default, "TCC: exit vehicle" in the key bindings) works like this:

You do What happens
Tap You get out and the engine keeps running
Double tap You get out, the engine keeps running, and the door stays open
Hold (half a second) Classic exit: engine off, door closed
Any press above about 18 mph You jump out like normal

The front wheels stay turned the way you left them, as long as you stay within about 150 m and nobody else drives off with the car.

Passengers, boats, aircraft, trains and bicycles use the game's normal exit. Motorcycles use tap / hold (they have no door).

Something looks wrong? /vehexitdebug prints steering info to the F8 console for staff to look at.

Controllers (1.0.5)

On an Xbox or PlayStation controller, Y / Triangle exits normally, with the door shut, like in GTA. The tap / double tap / hold behaviour is for keyboard and mouse. If you want it on a controller, bind TCC: exit vehicle - gamepad in Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM to a button other than Y / Triangle (for example D-pad right). Your steering angle is kept after any exit. /vehexitdebug shows which input device the game thinks you're using.

Straight wheels (1.0.6)

If your wheels are straight (within about 5 degrees) when you get out, they're held straight, so GTA no longer turns them on exit. If they're turned, that angle is kept. It's always the angle at the moment you get out, never one from earlier. Server owners can set the 5-degree limit with steering.straightDeadzone in config.lua.
